What was the most important factor in your decision to become a Nurse?
"I realized I had the knack for saving lives when I was in high school. I was a member of the local ambulance rescue squad."

Who was your most memorable patient?
"That would have to be nine years ago when I was on my shift in the emergency helicopter when I was called to handle a vehicle accident. When I got there, it turned out that two of the people involved in the accident were my brothers, who sustained multiple injuries. I was very thankful that I was able to give them the care they need on the scene and transport them in time to the hospital."

Why did you choose your specialty?

"It combines the two things I like: ER nursing, and flying. It’s the best of both worlds, really."

What do you think is the best thing about being a nurse?
"I like helping people and I like being the initial caregiver immediately after my patients’ injuries."

What do you think is the worst thing about being a nurse?
"I really don’t think there’s anything bad about nursing. There’s nothing else that I’d rather do."
